BERLIN KLASSE STELZMANN

01/03 - 26/04/2008

We - Sa   14.00 - 18.00 h  (2 - 6 p.m.)

Volker Stelzmann (Dresden 1940) Leaves in 1986 the Hochschule für Graphik (HfGuB) in Leipzig, where he was professor of painting since 1975, for West Berlin. Two years later he is nominated professor of painting at the Universität der Künste (UdK) in Berlin West. As in Leipzig he perpetuate the ancient discipline of figurative painting in its most demanding form. A way of looking at something and a practise that serves painting rather than the opposite. The result of his teaching reverberate in the work of his students.

Participating artists: Torsten Holz (Berlin 1973) Til Köhler (Bremen 1980) Lars Lehmann (Greifswald 1967) Andreas Leissner (Berlin 1978) Alexander Schmitt (Brussels 1967) Christiane Stohmann (Osterwieck 1972) Volker Stelzmann (Dresden 1940).
